DARK KITCHENS
FOR WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE STAYING IN...
FLOW OF PROCESSES / ERGONOMIC DESIGN / PROJECT MANAGMENT
Back in 2007, the concept of a platform for the online browsing and ordering of restaurant or local takeaway food for delivery was born. When the concept was pitched on TV’s Dragon’s Den, its success was not quite envisaged or was not seen by all to be something that would have influence on the hospitality marketplace.
Well 13 years on and this delivery market is soaring both in popularity and financially. It is understood to be worth £10 billion per year and growing.
With busy modern lifestyles and a demand to choose what we want, when we want it, there is an array of online delivery service providers now in the mix with Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats to name a few.
Some of our well-established clients have tapped into this market and understand that the virtual alternative to the traditional sit-down restaurant meal has opportunity for increased market share and revenue.
There are now growing instances of demanding volume and to not compromise or overwhelm the quality output of existing restaurant kitchens, the creation of the hidden “Dark Kitchen” has become high up on the agenda.
ABA have a full understanding of our client needs and operational processes, along with an insight into how the online delivery service providers have a somewhat leading hand in the success of virtual offers. This all helps to devise the efficient, streamlined designs needed to create that matching guest experience but Instead it’s from the comfort of their own home.
